About SLKs

STEM Lesson Kits will challenge all students to perform STEM hands-on activities, individually, or as part of a team, from a kit containing a full school-year of equipment and supplies for a typical Middle School class and self-check their work online.

Assisting Teachers

STEM Lesson Kits are based upon "ABCs"; that is, "Activities Before Content". Students perform hands-on experiments for a purpose to measure and document what they have done. Students are engaged in interesting behavior of many ordinary items they encounter in daily life, which increases knowledge retention.

Aligning with Standards

STEM Lesson Kits align with college- and career-ready standards in each state. Expectations created by new college- and career-ready standards mean that many instructional technologies must change. Resources must go well beyond more traditional drill-and-practice programs and encourage student critical thinking.
